For children and families traumatised by war in Sierra Leone

An integrated approach to releasing children back into the community as part of the solution, rather than the problem

Providing education, vocational training, counselling and behaviour modification

From the Big Lottery Fund:
Dagenham based Lifeline Network International, will use £214,373 for a project that will provide accessible primary education to the most disadvantaged children, including former child combatants and children affected by the war. Kuntorloh is a community on the outskirts of Freetown where many families were displaced during the war. This project will enable children in the community to attend school and to receive a quality education that meets their needs. The curriculum will encourage the children to tackle issues relating to reconciliation and reintegration as well as tailored education for the development of practical skills and HIV/AIDS awareness.
